How close may a vent terminal be located to an operable window, door, or other air intake opening?
Not quite. The answer is C: At least 10 feet horizontally, or at least 3 feet above the top of the opening
A vent terminal must be at least 10 feet away from, or at least 3 feet above, any openable window, door, opening, air intake or vent shaft; it must also stay at least 3 feet from a lot line in every direction (alleys and streets excepted). The two options are alternatives — far enough away horizontally, or high enough above — so it is a specific numeric rule, not a ban on proximity. Four feet and 1 foot are plausible-sounding numbers that the code does not use.
